Heather: Hi I’m Heather from TagWorld.com and this is Elias from

Elias: from the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

Heather: And we’re here at Bamboozle. Do you wanna talk about, are you guys on tour right now? Or are you just playing here?

Elias: Right now, we’re doing our own heading tour. After Warped tour . I don’t know, we couldn’t really get together any set touring plans with any band so we kind of just took out two of our best friends Lorraine drive and Monti RI and we’ve been doing that for two months now. So, right now we’re two months into our touring thing and I don’t know, I guess we’re still gonna be doing this.

Heather: So I read that you guys are from Florida and you guys basically started playing together and weren’t really looking to make it serious and then it kind of got to that point. Do you wanna tell us about that?

Elias: Basically the band started. Ronnie and Duke. Ronnie’s our singer and Duke’s our guitar player. Uh, they’ve know each other since they were kids. Just like me and Joey, our bass player. Uh, basically our two bands met up and me and Joey joined the Jumpsuit Apparatus. And we me John from being a local musician. He was a local drummer for a bunch of local bands and stuff…Somebody’s yelling my name?…..she’s yelling.

Heather: Cool. So you wanna talk about how you eventually started promoting yourself, getting big in the local scene, and then moved out

Elias: Oh, basically we did as much as we could like on our home ground. Uh, we took the advice, if you can’t get a crack in your hometown you’re not gonna be able to get cracking anywhere, so., uh. We just made like a ten thousand demo set and basically just passed them all away. And went to every high school in our hometown. And then huh Myspace helped us out a lot obviously uh. Myspace is a good way to promote your band. And get your music out, you know information about shows, and pictures, whatever you wanna do so.

Heather: And then so, you wanna talk about how you got signed with Virgin and all that.

Elias: Sure. Um, we signed to Virgin on October 27th 2005. Basically you know we had a lot of label interest. And we flew around you know LA to NY and we pretty much talked to every record label imaginable. And before signing, to an actually different record label, days before. Uh Jason Flong the president of Virgin called the manager and said, I’m gonna fly these guys up here tomorrow. So, we flew up the next morning. Had dinner with them and signed to Virgin.

Heather: I know you guys have a new record out. Do you wanna talk about that?

Elias: Yeah, the record’s called ‘Don’t you fake it’ and it’s in stores everywhere. You can pick it up,……….I don’t know if you like good straight forward, roller skating type music.

Heather: I know that you had David Bendith, you had work on the album?…

Elias: His name’s David Bendith. He’s from Canada. He’s a rock star. It was an awesome experience working with that guy.

Heather: So where are you guys off to next?

Elias: Well, to be honest today. We have our set time at 1:55. And then after that, I’m sure we’ll be packing up and heading to Pasadena, to shoot our new video tonight. Until 8am. And then we’re driving into Denver. And then we’re going home for a week. For the first time, in a long time.

Heather: Alright, well thanks for talking to us and bye.
