The nation's largest animal protection organization has joined forces with TRIPSwithPETS.com to build upon their mutual commitment to promote the well being and protection of all animals.

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) supports the goal of TRIPSwithPETS.com - to ensure that pets are welcome, happy, and safe when traveling. To show their support, The HSUS is promoting TRIPSwithPETS.com to their members and web site visitors.

The Humane Society of the United States leads the charge in disaster services for all animals. Integral to disaster services is securing pet friendly accommodations in preparation for a disaster. Now, The HSUS web site features TRIPSwithPETS.com’s directory of pet-friendly lodging as part of their disaster preparedness program. TRIPSwithPETS.com’s directory is also accessible throughout the rest of The HSUS site as a resource for those planning trips with their pets.

“It’s fantastic working with TRIPSwithPETS.com,” says Kelly Connolly, a Companion Animals Issues Specialist at The Humane Society of the United States. "The HSUS is always telling our constituents that pets can travel safely with their humans but we’ve never before been able to direct these people to a website where actual itineraries and pet-friendly accommodations can be mapped out. In addition, TRIPSwithPETS.com is helping us in our disaster preparedness effort by allowing people to plan ahead of time where they could evacuate to with their pets in the event of an emergency.”

TRIPSwithPETS.com is working to promote greater awareness of The Humane Society of the United States’ initiatives to its site visitors and travel club members. TRIPSwithPETS.com is promoting The HSUS’ services and programs, such as the Pets for Life Program. The goal of this program is to curtail the numbers of animals relinquished to shelters because of breaks in the human-animal bond.

“We couldn’t think of a more natural alliance than this one with The Humane Society of the United States, an organization dedicated to the protection of all animals,” said Kim Salerno, President and Founder, Trips with Pets, Inc. “Providing our site visitors with information on all that The Humane Society of the U.S. does to protect animals creates greater awareness of how we can all support their endeavors and further promotes the bond between people and their pets.”
