Index Engines Exits Stealth Mode

Holmdel, NJ - March 17, 2005 - Index Engines today formally opened their doors for business with the launch of their flagship product, the Index Engines Appliance. Index Engines has been operating in stealth mode during the research and development process for their product line. The company was founded in 2003 by seasoned technology entrepreneurs Tim Williams and Gordon Harris. The company launch will occur as a webcast on March 15, 2005 in partnership with InfoWorld magazine(www.infoworld.com). InfoWorld has tested and reviewed the Index Engines Appliance in their March 14, 2005 issue, rating the product a “Very Good” or 8.6 out of 10.0, saying, "Index Engines Appliance breathes fresh life into enterprise search".

Tim Williams and Gordon Harris are responsible for three technology startups, CrosStor, Tacit Networks (www.tacitnetworks.com), and now Index Engines. CrosStor was a storage operating system company that was sold to EMC (www.emc.com) in November of 2000. Tacit Networks is the leader in enterprise file sharing for remote office solutions and recently ranked as one of Byte and Switch's top 10 private companies and remains a successful start up.
