Applied Language Solutions, the winner of HSBC Start-Up Star Award 2006, is proud to announce further expansion. This is a double celebration for the Huddersfield-based company with their recent opening of a new office in Barcelona, and the appointment of new members of staff to their growing international team.

In the UK office Stacey Rose is the new Marketing and PR Executive, and Martine Harney and Jack Primrose have joined the sales team as Industry Managers.

Stacey, who has previously worked within a local radio station and a marketing agency, will work closely with the Marketing Manager, Richard Michie, in developing the company’s marketing and PR activities.

Martine will manage the accounts of those customers within the engineering industry, and Jack will manage customer accounts within the Retail, Finance, FMCG Food and Beverages industries.

Gavin Wheeldon, Managing Director, said “As Marketing and PR Executive, Stacey will focus on maintaining vital communication with our publics as we continue to grow, and the addition of Jack and Martine serves to further increase the strength of our UK Sales team.”

Eva Gea, a qualified translator, has been appointed in the Spanish office as in-house Spanish Translator. Eva will bring to the role specialist translation skills in areas including hospitality, travel and tourism, art, nutrition, science and physiology, and will also provide standard Spanish translation services.

Gavin, 30, continued “Opening an office in Spain ensures a Spanish translator is available immediately to meet customer requirements and provide an almost instant translation service.”

“This is a very exciting time for us. We have grown at a phenomenal rate in less than three years into a multi-million pound company with a 54-strong team. The addition of new staff will help to continue our fantastic growth.”
