Wake County Citizens’ Facilities Advisory Committee Releases Podcast Outlining Their Recommendation Process

(PRLEAP.COM) RALEIGH, N.C. – Wake County Citizens’ Facilities Advisory Committee (CFAC) has announced the release of a podcast providing details and explanation about the committee’s process of gathering and reviewing data from Wake County and 8 other school systems, within North Carolina and across the nation. The podcast features thoughts from committee co-chairs Billie Redmond and John Mabe and is available for download at http://www.wakegov.com/cfac/podcast. “As members of Wake CFAC, we take our responsibility to make recommendations that will help improve the school building process very seriously,” said Redmond. “By listening to this podcast, residents can have a better idea of the process involved when building a new school and are able to understand the in-depth analysis we are reviewing to make informed decisions.”

About Wake County Citizens’ Facilities Advisory Committee:
Formed in June 2006, the Wake County Citizens’ Facilities Advisory Committee is charged with evaluating the WCPSS capital improvement program and evaluating school design criteria, construction management and delivery methods. Initially, the committee will review WCPSS’ facility program. However, the work of the committee is long-term and also includes reviewing Wake County capital projects. The 13-member committee was established jointly by the Wake County Board of Education and Wake County Board of Commissioners and will report its findings to both boards and the public. Committee members include persons with experience in corporate leadership, architecture and engineering, financial management, public administration, business, government and the nonprofit sector.
