Keller Williams has been called a mad-scientist, a one-man-band and a million other things. Williams is a master of the acoustic guitar and known for his ability to solo and create layers of spontaneous loops. He also the world’s foremost aficionado of the “mouth flugel” and if you don’t know what that is then you should definitely see the show. The Orange Peel’s doors open at eight on November 8th.
The Asheville Film Festival starts on November 12th. Categories are feature, documentary, short film, animation, and student film. Entries come from all over the world and will be sure to impress. There will also be an evening with actress Jennifer Tilley and showings of her various films such as “Bullets Over Broadway”.
There will be a book signing with John Warner of the e-zine McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, a zine founded by best-selling author Dave Eggars of “A Heart Breaking Work of Incredible Genius” fame. He will be signing his new book “McSweeney’s Book of Lists” at Malaprops on November 11th at 5 pm.
Rock icon, Joan Jett, descends on the Asheville at eight o’ clock on the 19th. She is a significant, often imitated rock pioneer with nine top forty hits. She is also the host of "Joan Jett’s Radio Revolution" on Sirius Satellite Radio.
