The appeal of a rhinestone tiara, television commercials, automobiles, scholarships, paid tuition, cash awards, instant fame and recognition are some of the incentives that young women envision when they anticipate entering a pageant.

Parents get requests from their daughters about participating. Some students consider pageants as a funding source for college and many are just curious about what is involved and the costs. Pageants can be fun and also profitable to some participants. However, there are other factors that contestants and parents should be knowledgeable about in order for it to be a worthwhile and enjoyable experience.

The seminar "An Insider's View" will provide information about sponsorship, the different systems, fees, contracts, security, staffing, residency loopholes and how they can be exploited, the proper way to get information and where to find it are just a few of the topics that are discussed. Not being knowledgeable about these factors can lead many novice participants to become disillusioned, disgruntled, suspicious, and seek litigation as a last resource.

The 3-hour seminar will take place on Saturday, December 2, at the American Inn of Bethesda, in Bethesda, MD. The location is Metro accessible. The cost is $65. Attendees will be provided with resource and reference materials, continental breakfast or afternoon snack, gift bags with hair, beauty, and skin care products. Seating is limited.

After attending this seminar parents and potential contestants will be able to make an informed decision about participating and easily evaluate their options before making a financial investment.

Seminar presented by Events by Ann Carrie Simon, LLC – providing over 18 years experience in pageantry at all levels, career & fashion development, teen workshops, and etiquette.
