November 13, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Entertainment News
Scottsdale, Ariz. (November 13, 2006) – In what will, arguably, be the biggest game this season, as college football powerhouses No.1 ranked Ohio State and No. 2 ranked University of Michigan go head-to-head on November 18 at 1:30pm. Mickey’s Hangover, the official headquarters for Ohio State fans, will be bringing the 109-year old historic backyard brawl to the Valley for the biggest college tailgate this season, benefiting 98KUPD’s Homeless for The Holidays campaign.

The massive block party on November 18 from 12:30pm-4:00pm, will feature 98KUPD personalities from the Holmberg’s Morning Sickness show as hosts John Holmberg and Brady Bogen rally up Ohio State and Michigan fans. As part of their show’s long-standing collegiate rivalry, Bogen’s Buckeye fans and Holmberg’s Wolverine fans will be competing against each other throughout the game.

The team with the most spirit that tallies up the largest in food sales numbers for the day, Mickey’s will donate $1,000 to 98KUPD’s Homeless for the Holidays, benefiting Phoenix-based Neighborhood Center, on behalf of their college team.

The tailgate will conclude Mickey’s ‘College Challenge”—an ongoing campaign that began at the start of the season giving Buckeye fans a chance to win an all-expenses paid trip to the Ohio State vs. Michigan game. The winner, who will be decided based on the collective total of Buckeye fans they bring to Mickey’s throughout the season, will be announced November 11 at Mickey’s Hangover during half-time of the Ohio State vs. Northwestern game.

Fans will watch the game on multiple High Definition plasma screen TVs inside and on a grand-scaled video wall outside and enjoy game-day favorites fresh off Mickey’s outdoor grill.

“Mickey’s has become the favorite among die-hard college fans during football game days,” said Randy Smith, president of Bottomline Hospitality Group, parent company of Mickey’s Hangover and other restaurant concepts including SIX Lounge and Restaurant. “We want to funnel their team spirit and channel it into a good cause, while giving the winning team bragging rights for the year.”

Admission is free for everyone; attendees must be 21 or over.
