Robots in Orbit bring stylish shirts to Earth men

Los Angeles, CA-11/14/2006-Robots in Orbit, a new men’s shirt line, is pleased to announce the launch of www.robotsinorbit.com. Offering designs in a variety of styles, including 50s retro, Asian, adventure and comics-themed, these casual shirts are now available direct to the public through the website.

According to owner Amy Creamer, the shirts are geared to the man who wants to look stylish, but still wants to express himself: “When you’re ready to graduate from a T-shirt, you’re ready for a Robots in Orbit shirt.”

After 10 years of making custom shirts always noticed for their unique prints, Creamer thought there was a need for a line of shirts that were nicer than a T-shirt, kooky and fun, but not just the typical Hawaiian or “loud” shirt. “There’s a lot of people out there looking for something that fits causal Friday at work and a night on the town. A shirt relaxed enough to wear home with friends, but dressy enough to show off at a party. Fun, but not generic and mass-produced.”

Combing the globe for interesting prints, she has put together a collection showing a range of designs. Pirate motifs, astronomy designs, retro pop art and Chinese brush painting themes are just a sample of the shirts available. The shirts are 100% cotton, many in barkcloth – a textured cotton weave, and all produced in limited runs in Southern California. Understanding that men of all shapes want cool shirts, sizes run to 3XL, with new shirts arriving monthly.

“The whole concept of Robots in Orbit, and our tagline, ‘Stylish shirts from the future,’ is about fun,” Creamer said. “Not taking ourselves too seriously, making cool shirts, and not being pretentious. We don’t say, ‘You’re not…whatever enough to wear our shirts’. We say, ‘This is what we love, and we hope you do too.’ We just want to get some good designs out there to Earth humans.”

When asked about “the future”, Creamer replied: “We’re big Tiki fans and I don’t think there’s enough really special prints out there. We’re also looking forward to creating some custom designs to satisfy our cravings for extraordinary shirts. After that, who knows?”
