Honeywell RG59-RGB Coaxial Cable Leverages Profusion™ Jacketless Design For Easier Installation of Home Theater & Video Systems

Pleasant Prairie, WI, November 16, 2006 — Addressing the needs of both the CE installer and the home theater enthusiast, Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today announced new Crystal Series® RG59-RGB cables. Offered in 3- and 5-conductor styles, these premium quality cables combine a wide range of advanced features, including RG59 coaxial cable in place of mini-coax to simplify connector assembly.

To achieve unparalleled flexibility and ease of installation, the cables incorporate Honeywell’s patented Profusion™ jacketless design that eliminates the need for an overall bundle jacket. Thanks to the Profusion™ method of tightly twisting multiple cables together, the CE installer simply “peels off” individual cables from the bundle for termination, thus removing the time-consuming step of stripping off an outer jacket. Profusion also reduces the total diameter of the cable, significantly improving bend radius and making for easier installations.

Crystal Series® RG59-RGB cables help recreate the movie theater experience in the home by optimizing the performance capabilities of DVD players, TVs, and other high-end A/V equipment. Highlights of construction include a low-loss 20 AWG bare copper center conductor protected by a gas-injected dielectric to assure superior signal strength with minimum attenuation, CMX rated fire-retardant jackets, and metal-to-metal dual-shielding composed of 95% tinned copper braid and 100% aluminum foil shield for reliable rejection of RF and EM interference.
