November 29, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
SpectraSensors will be opening a sales office in Houston, Texas on Dec. 1, 2006 to provide local service and application support to customers.

SpectraSensors is a leading manufacturer of optically based gas analyzers and moisture analyzers for analytical process markets with manufacturing in California and offices and agents worldwide. Typical industrial applications include measurement of moisture, carbon dioxide, and other corrosives in petrochemical and refinery gas processes, moisture analysis in chemical and bulk gases, and airborne moisture and other atmospheric measurements from commercial aircraft.

“The company has grown rapidly over the past few years due to wide acceptance of our technology,” George Balogh, CEO of SpectraSensors said. “Originally, our sales came from a large number of natural gas operating companies which are spread throughout the county, many headquartered in Houston. More recently, we advanced into a host of other petrochemical and refinery applications. It has become obvious that the majority of the customers, industry experts, associations, and talent are based in Houston and surrounding regions. We are very excited to see this progression as SpectraSensors roots itself into the community and industry of analytical measurement experts”.

From its Houston office SpectraSensors will operate a laboratory for analytical application development and host technical training and field services to energy and petrochemical companies. Moisture Analyzers and sample handling components will be stored and sold out of the Houston facility that will also accommodate the Houston-based international and domestic sales team for the company.

The SpectraSensors team has extensive experience in using optical technologies including laser absorption spectroscopy, a chemical sensing technique that emphasizes accuracy, fast response time, and immunity to corrosive or contaminating elements in the sensing environment. SpectraSensors is privately owned and retains 100 percent of research, design and manufacturing in-house. The company has been developing and selling commercial products adapted from the NASA/Caltech Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California and perfected via proprietary R&D efforts since 1998.

The company will host a grand opening for the Houston office on Thursday, Dec. 7 from 3 pm to 8 pm. The address of the new Houston office is 4333 North Sam Houston Parkway West #100.
