The duo is committed to working with leading medical professionals and encouraging intercontinental collaborations, as they mold the journal.

As the baby boom generation reach retirement age, interest in cosmetic surgery is surging. In the current issue of “Facial Plastic Surgery”, Oren Friedman, M.D., from Mayo Medical School, Rochester, Minnesota, writes: “The demand for aging face surgery has increased dramatically over the past few decades, and it is likely that it will continue to flourish as the segment of our population over 65 years of age continues to grow.”

“Facial Plastic Surgery”, a quarterly journal that publishes topic-specific issues covering areas of aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery, debuted in 1984. Its focus includes scar revision, mid-face rejuvenation, facial trauma, facial implants, neck reconstruction, cleft palate, facelifts, as well as various other procedures. The journal swiftly conveys information regarding state-of-the-art technology as well as new treatments. In the new issue, Guest Editors Adam T. Ross, M.D., from the Medical University of South Carolina and Jeffrey B. Wise, M.D., from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, assert: “As the number of novel techniques and trends grows, it is incumbent upon providers to remain current.”

For over 20 years, the ever-expanding journal has grown to encompass a full range of surgical procedures for the face and neck. Since its inception, the stature of the influential publication has risen dramatically. As the official journal of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery (EAFPS), the publication is uniquely positioned to continue to play a significant role for medical professionals around the globe.
