BADGE(RED) and TORTU(RED) by Gap ad blitz, rebels turn to spoof t-shirts

(PRLEAP.COM) SAN FRANCISCO, CA (November 17, 2006) - RedGag shirts spoof the current Gap ad blizzard of celebrities in red t-shirts with feel-good words like INSPIRED and ASSURED. RedGag’s parody red shirts look similar but have edgy messages like SUCKERED, WHORED, INBRED, DEFLOWERED, ANGERED, BADGERED, PLASTERED, SHOWERED, TIRED, and TORTURED. Ten percent of the profits will be donated to local AIDS charities and AdBusters. GoodStorm is the exclusive producer of RedGag t-shirts. See them at www.redgag.com

People would have to be blind to miss the barrage of Gap PRODUCT (RED) ads around the country featuring celebrities sporting red t-shirts with upbeat words like INSPI(RED) and ASSU(RED). Ripe for parody, www.redgag.com has jumped on the bandwagon with t-shirts that say TI(RED), SUCKE(RED), SHOW(RED) and even INB(RED).

RedGag messages run the gamut from the politically incorrect, WHO(RED), to more funnier words like DEFLOWER(RED). And like the controversial Gap ads, the RedGag shirts are also garnering a lot of attention.

“I think it’s great that Gap is supporting people affected by AIDS and HIV in Africa,” but I don’t want to be a walking billboard for them, said Jason Singleton of Noe Valley, who was wearing a ANGE(RED) t-shirt. “The Gap ads make me see red,” he added with a smirk.

Ten percent of the profits of every RedGag t-shirt sold will be donated to local AIDS charities and AdBusters, a global network of artists, activists, writers, pranksters, students, educators and entrepreneurs who are advancing the new social activist movement.

GoodStorm, whose tagline is “Capitalism Done Right,” is the exclusive producer of RedGag t-shirts. To see the full line of parody t-shirts, visit www.redgag.com
