SpaShark.com Launched To Provide Unbiased Reviews of America’s 12,100 Spas

March 22, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Health News
PALO ALTO, CALIF. (March 21, 2005) – SharkPage, a privately-held company based in Palo Alto, California, has launched SpaShark.com, a website that collects, screens, and publishes guest-written spa reviews. The site is available free of charge at the www.spashark.com Internet address.

Spas are big business. The International Spa Association reports that people made 136 million spa visits in the U.S. in 2003, spending a total of $11.2 billion.

The reviews on SpaShark.com are candid, and useful. One Maui spa is described as “a perfect oasis of pampering.” In contrast, one spa guest says of a certain Florida facility, “the health department needs to close that place.”

Whether praising or damning, any review deemed sincere is posted. Reviews may be submitted at http://www.spashark.com/review.htm .

SpaShark.com has already published reviews of spas located in Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, Georgia, Illinois, Nevada, and New Mexico. The site also contains reviews of spas located outside the U.S., in Belize, the Cayman Islands, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Turks and Caicos, and the Virgin Islands.

SpaShark.com covers spas of all types, including club spas, destination spas, day spas, medical spas, mineral springs spas, and resort and hotel spas. The site places a small gray shark fin icon next to spas that are, on the whole, positively reviewed by guests. The fin system gives spa clients a quick way to find well-liked spas within a given city.

Neither SpaShark.com nor its parent SharkPage is affiliated with the International Spa Association.
