Singapore Welcomes Flower and Garden Enthusiasts at the Singapore Garden Festival

PRLEAP.COM) Florists, horticulturists, as well as flower and garden enthusiasts from around the world are invited to the Singapore Garden Festival, the first international garden and flower show in Singapore. This floral event will showcase the best floral, landscape and garden designs from top florists and landscape/garden designers in the world. Happening on December 16 to 25 at Suntec City Convention Centre in Singapore, the festival aims to be included among the top flower and garden shows in the international arena. It also aims to promote Singapore to foreign visitors.
Highlights of the event include The Best of Show – Landscape Gardens, which features landscape garden designs by the best international designers, florists, and horticulturists from Australia, Netherlands, France, UK, Malaysia, as well as local designers. Other highlights are Fantasy Gardens – a creative display of flowers and plants accentuated with the use of lighting and props, Floral Windows to the World – a showcase of floral masterpieces by local and international designers, and the Singapore Orchid Show – a stunning display of tropical orchids in Singapore.
Visitors can expect educational and recreational activities such as floral arrangement demos, talks on gardening and orchids in general, story-telling and arts and crafts for kid participants, and many others. Other designers will also be given the opportunity to showcase their talents through the Floral Design Competition and the Student Floral Design Competition. Competitors stand a chance to win cash prizes and a trophy.
For flower and garden enthusiasts looking to buy flowers and ornamental plants, they can visit the Festival Marketplace. Booths will be set up at the marketplace to display a wide array of plants, gardening products, garden-related books, landscaping services, among others that are on sale.
Organized by the National Parks Board, the festival expects to draw more than 200,000 visitors during the event. This year, the annual Singapore Orchid Show will be held in conjunction with the festival.
