Girl's Get-A-Way Cruise a Success for Premier Christian Cruises

November 23, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Travel News
Nashville, TN – Premier Christian Cruise’s immensely popular Girl’s Get-A-Way Cruise saw a sell-out crowd of 1,600 women for its fall 2006 voyage, mirroring the success of the sold-out maiden voyage in 2005. The 2006 cruise departed Jacksonville, Fla., on November 9, 2006 for Freeport and Nassau, Bahamas, and returned November 13, 2006. The second annual Girl’s Get-A-Way Cruise was the first ever fully-chartered ship for Christian women, chartering the entire 733 ft. Carnival Cruise Line luxury ship "Celebration" to provide a memorable cruise experience for Christian women of all ages—young and young-at-heart.

"I am already trying to tell all the women I know that they need to plan to go next year," says featured speaker Gigi Graham, award-winning author and eldest daughter of Dr. Billy and Ruth Graham. "The cruise was such a wonderful experience."

Cruises have long been known to be a great vacation choice, and the Girl’s Get-A-Way Cruise 2006 was no exception. In addition to all the marvelous amenities Carnival Cruise Ships are known for, such as fabulous dining, modern health and spa facilities and shopping at the beautiful ports of call, the Girl’s Get-A-Way Cruise 2006 offered Christian music playing nonstop over the PA system, Christian TV channels, wholesome movies, clean-cut comedy, uplifting speakers and inspiring musical artists.

Entertainment abounded as cruisers were treated to a full line-up of world-class speakers and performers. The emcee for the long weekend was former "700 Club" co-host, Lisa Ryan, who was joined by a fantastic musical line-up including multi-Grammy and Dove Award winner Sandi Patty; Dove Award-winning trio Selah; Dove Award winner and former NewSong lead singer Michael O’Brien; and Dove Award nominees David Phelps and Brother’s Keeper, in addition to NBC’s "Today Show Today’s Superstar" finalist Kristy Starling. In addition to Gigi Graham, speakers on-board included renowned speaker/author Shaunti Feldhahn; Susie Shellenberger, co-host of "Life on the Edge Live!" and the editor of popular teen girl magazine, BRIO; former "Full House" actress Candace Cameron Bure and best-selling author of The Christmas Hope series Donna VanLiere, along with seasoned authors/speakers Karen Kingsbury and Kim Bolton. To keep things light, guests were entertained by Christian comedians Anita Renfroe and Kerri Pomarolli, and "The Definitive President George W. Bush," impersonator John Morgan kept everyone rolling in the aisles with his hilarious but respectful impression of the President.

Premier Christian Cruises also joined with several sponsors to bring the ultimate girls’ experience to everyone traveling on the Girls Get-A-Way Cruise 2006, including adoption ministry Lifeline Children’s Services and CBN’s "Living the Life," which helped to spread the word about the voyage. All passengers received a free one-year subscription to Today’s Christian Woman Magazine courtesy of the publication. They also were treated to a fashion show sponsored by Christi's Pure Fashion, learned how to connect with moms from around the country with the help of The Motherhood Club experts and enjoyed scrapbooking and faithbooking with Creative Memories.

Plans are already in the works for the Girl’s Get-A-Way Cruise 2007, which goes on sale to the public on February 14, 2007. Over 100 women from the 2006 cruise have already signed up to be group leaders on the 2007 cruise, and many more have expressed a desire to either organize a group or to purchase a cabin for themselves prior to the public on-sale date. For the third annual cruise, Premier Christian Cruises has chartered the Carnival Cruise Lines ship "Holiday," which has a passenger capacity of 1,700. Performers and speakers scheduled to appear include former "Facts of Life" actress and speaker/author Lisa Whelchel; best-selling and award-winning author/speaker Gary Smalley; "Renewing the Heart" Conferences visionary and author Lisa Harper; author Angela Thomas; Dove Award-winning and Grammy nominated group Point of Grace; comedian/actress Kerri Pomarolli; Susie Shellenberger, co-host of "Life on the Edge Live!" and the editor of popular teen girl magazine, BRIO; and Cheryl McGuiness, widow of 9/11 American Airline Flight 11 pilot Tom McGuiness, among others.

In addition to the Girl’s Get-A-Way Cruise, Premier Christian Cruises offers and is currently booking passage on the K-LOVE’s Friends & Family Music Cruise 2007 (January 22-26, 2007) and The Music Boat 2007 (April 30-May 4, 2007).
