Dalbey Education Institute Founder and CEO Fulfills Pledge by Donating 3,260 Turkeys to the Denver Rescue Mission
(
PRLEAP.COM) Westminster, Colo. – Russ Dalbey, founder and CEO of The Dalbey Education Institute, pledged two turkeys for every one donated to the Denver Rescue Mission for their annual Thanksgiving food programs last week. In the end, Dalbey donated 3,260 frozen turkeys for the Mission’s Thanksgiving programs, bringing the total raised to nearly 5,000 to date.
Each year, the Denver Rescue Mission provides Thanksgiving dinner to both families and individuals through a variety of services. This year, the Mission needed at least 4,000 turkeys to be used during the holiday season. Thanks to Dalbey’s gift, the total now sits at nearly 5,000 frozen turkeys, ensuring more than 17,000 of Colorado’s less fortunate will enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal. The turkeys will be served at the Lawrence Street Shelter and The Crossing for the Great Thanksgiving Banquet, given to families in 1,000 holiday food boxes, and distributed to poor and needy families in the metro Denver area through other non-profit agencies.
Donations of frozen turkeys are still needed in order to allow the Denver Rescue Mission to provide as many Thanksgiving meals as possible.
“My company was built on the belief that anyone can build a successful, rewarding life with just a little hope. When we heard about the need for frozen turkeys, we saw this as a great opportunity to provide real hope to those less fortunate. I’m glad to see that so many Coloradoans answered our ‘Two for One’ Challenge,” said Russ Dalbey, founder and CEO of the Dalbey Education Institute and president of the Successful Living Foundation. “The Denver Rescue Mission does outstanding work all year long, and I hope this donation inspires others to give back to their community in any way they can,” he added.
Dalbey’s inspiration seems to be catching on. In addition to his donation, employees at The Dalbey Education Institute’s Westminster location took up a collection on Friday and purchased nearly 50 additional turkeys for the Rescue Mission.
