Embellish Handbell Ensemble of Grand Rapids, Michigan, a nationally renowned handbell organization, partnered with Harbor Springs Web Design to create a new look for their musical group.

With the scope of their market quickly expanding outside of Michigan, Embellish Handbell Ensemble felt it was time to update their identity to something more professional. They were concerned as a nonprofit organization, however, with the cost of hiring a design firm for services.

"We chose to partner with Harbor Springs Web Design since they offered us a very generous nonprofit discount on all of our projects," said Lisa VanderTol, Embellish Handbell Ensemble President. "They created a look that is very unique and our new web site will enhance how we communicate online with those who support our musical group."

The web site features biographies of the music director and the ringers who make up the handbell ensemble, plus members of the group can easily update the concert calendar when needed. Supporters and fans of Embellish can make donations and purchase "The Colors of Brass" CD conveniently online.

"We realize that our supporters are coming from further away now, so we need to provide them with information about our group online," stated Stephanie Wiltse, Music Director of Embellish Handbell Ensemble. "Our new web site allows us to sell our CD and accept donations any time of the day, plus we can greatly improve relations and communication with our fans."

Financial support is a very important issue for a nonprofit group like Embellish since they purchase music, pay for equipment repairs, maintain insurance and pay a music director from donations made by their supporters. Funds left over for marketing and advertising can be very little or even nothing for a nonprofit organization.

"With our pricing structure and discounts for nonprofit organizations, groups like Embellish Handbell Ensemble can afford a professional web site," added Marcie Szczubelek, partner with Harbor Springs Web Design.

Embellish Handbell Ensemble provides a high quality musical experience for diverse audiences. The fourteen members of Embellish ring six and a half octaves of Malmark Handbells and five and a half octaves of Malmark ChoirChimes.
