Dorsa Consulting Expands Its Services to Nonprofit Employers, Adds 403(b) Practice

(JACKSONVILLE BEACH, FL) — In an effort to offer a more comprehensive package of services to employers, Dorsa Consulting has expanded again.

Dorsa Consulting has added a 403(b) practice to service the growing needs of nonprofit employers that offer this benefit to their employees. Often likened to the 401(k), a 403(b) is a form of a defined contribution plan that is available only to employees of educational and charitable organizations.

John McCrary, CRA, CRC, principal and managing partner of Dorsa Consulting, said the addition of the new 403(b) division allows the firm to assist nonprofit organizations that are inline with its target customer base: employers with between 50 and 5,000 employees. Also, the new division will allow Dorsa Consulting to serve a market that has been overlooked by some of the larger industry 403(b) service providers.

“We work with a lot of Third Party Administration providers who have been asking us to help them out with their 403(b) accounts,” said McCrary. “Adding this division allows us to offer the same technology services and economies of scale to charitable organizations that we currently offer to the for-profit sector.”

The new division will be led by Thomas “Tom” E. Poje, CPC, QPA, QKA, a leading authority on defined contribution plans and co-author of Coverage and Nondiscrimination Answer Book 2004.

“There are a number of dramatic changes coming to the 403(b) arena in the next year and we want to be on the forefront helping employers maneuver these changes without a hitch,” McCrary said.

He encourages employers to review and evaluate their defined contribution plans annually to ensure they are receiving the best service possible.
