Grand Canyon.com Completes Second Grand Canyon Travel Poll

(PRLEAP.COM) Page, Arizona, December 1st, 2006 – GrandCanyon.com has completed its second Grand Canyon travel-related survey. Like the company’s first poll (about which season was the most popular for Grand Canyon vacations), the results of this survey reconfirmed some long-standing assumptions about the typical Grand Canyon visitor, and revealed some noteworthy developments as well.

Out of 100 people polled anonymously on the company’s website regarding who would accompany them on their Grand Canyon vacation, 37% said “my spouse or significant other.” This is perfectly logical, according to GrandCanyon.com president, Karlyn Bunting, who says that “the majority of people visiting Grand Canyon National Park in the next few moths will be couples. The quieter off-season can be a great time to reconnect, especially after the busy holiday season.”

26% of respondents said they would be visiting the Grand Canyon with their immediate family (spouse and children). “This is not surprising either” says Karlyn. “Just look at all the blogs out there: a Grand Canyon vacation is on the ‘lifetime to-do lists’ for families all over the world.” Karlyn reminds these families to make their Grand Canyon hotel reservations as soon as possible since most will travel during Northern Arizona’s peak seasons of spring and summer.

A somewhat unexpected revelation was the level of interest in traveling solo to the Grand Canyon. 13% of those surveyed said they planned to tour the area with “me, myself and I.” 8% indicated that they would be visiting the park with extended family, while 6% planned to make their Grand Canyon vacation a “girls’ getaway.” “A few good friends” and “just the guys” rounded out the survey results, each with 5% of respondents indicating they would be visiting the area with such a group.
