Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority (JCAA) has selected Ubitech to migrate their ATS messaging operations from AFTN to AMHS in accordance with ICAO's ATN implementation strategy. This will be the first implementation of an AMHS system in the Caribbean and Ubitech"s fourth installation in the region.

By choosing now to upgrade to AMHS, JCAA has established themselves not only as a leader in the Caribbean, but throughout the globe, as only a handful of national aviation authorities have taken this step to AMHS. Upon completion of this project, JCAA will be one of the world’s first CAA’s to be fully compliant to ICAO’s Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) and will enjoy the benefits of true AMHS messaging.

Ubitech will provide JCAA with its Ubimex 6 AMHS System, the latest generation of its field-tested ATS Messaging technology. The Ubimex 6 is a native X.400 based AMHS message system that is ICAO SARPs compliant and conformant to Extended ATS Message Service. While it is designed specifically for communication over the ATN, the Ubimex 6 is 100% compatible to other networks such as AFTN, CIDIN, SITA, & NADIN.

JCAA’s purchase of Ubitech’s Ubimex 6 AMHS system is part of a larger procurement project that will also see Ubitech install its InfoStore AIS System, InformAIR Pilot Briefing Interface, BillSys Billing Application, and SkySource eAIP system. Once these products are commissioned JCAA will operate one of the most advanced integrated ATS/AIS systems in the world.
