Melville, NY - The American Institute of Physics (AIP) announced today that HFSP Publishing has chosen AIP's Scitation platform to host its newly launched publication, the HFSP Journal, Frontiers of Interdisciplinary Research in the Life Sciences. AIP will also provide journal production and subscription management services for HFSP Publishing.

"This is an extremely important project for HFSP Publishing," noted Valerie Ferrier, Managing Editor of the HFSP Journal. "We thoroughly researched potential service providers to partner with in launching this journal, and AIP offered the level of expertise and flexibility we were looking for."

AIP's Scitation staff has worked closely with HFSP Publishing to create a website that mirrors the publisher's unique identity. A number of invaluable product features ensure that the HFSP Journal will provide a valuable research tool for those in biology and the related fields of physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science, and engineering. Scitation's easy-to-navigate interface and powerful search engine provides the journal's subscribers with extensive reference linking, customized article collection, e-mail alerts, and sophisticated browsing and searching capabilities.

AIP also provides journal production, subscription fulfillment and customer service for both the print and online editions of the HFSP Journal. "Our goal is to help HFSP Publishing create a high-level journal that will increase the visibility of the Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) and enhance its mission," said Darlene Walters, AIP Senior Vice President for Publishing. "Science is growing increasingly interdisciplinary in nature, and HFSP Publishing joins a growing list of Scitation clients who publish research that blurs the line between biology and the physical sciences."

In addition to Scitation online hosting, AIP Publishing Services delivers a full range of integrated, team-based journal production services from composition to copyediting to graphics production. An XML up front process guarantees the consistency, speed and flexibility today's scholarly publishers require in creating their content.

AIP also provides fulfillment and customer service for both the print and online editions of the HFSP Journal. These services range from issue renewal to distribution to providing a variety of reports, statistics and market tracking.

HFSP Publishing is an arm of the Human Frontier Science Program. The HFSP organization provides research grants to teams of scientists from different countries who wish to combine their expertise to approach questions that could not be answered by individual laboratories. Emphasis is placed on novel collaborations that bring together scientist from different disciplines to focus on problems in the life sciences.

Scitation is a division of the American Institute of Physics, a not-for-profit corporation chartered in 1931 to provide publishing and distribution services for scientific and technical societies. In addition to its own publications, AIP's Scitation online platform hosts content from many of the world's leading STM publishers including: American Physical Society, AVS Science and Technology of Materials, Interfaces, and Processing, Acoustical Society of America, Society of Rheology, American Association of Physicists in Medicine, American Association of Physics Teachers, American Society of Civil Engineers, ASME International, Earthquake Engineering Research Institute, The Electrochemical Society, IS&T - The Society for Imaging Science & Technology, Laser Institute of America, National Institute of Standards and Technology, Society of Exploration Geophysicists, and SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.
