Fort Lauderdale, June 2006: One does not have to be a fan of the many classic sci-fi movies and tele-vision shows to truly enjoy C. C. Ekeke’s outstanding debut novel, Star Brigade: First Renaissance. Filled with three-dimensional characters that break through sci-fi stereotypes, this potent blend of traditional sci-ence fiction, military drama, and action/adventure with a slice of space opera will keep you riveted from start to finish.

In the year 2403, the former residents of Earth are now a leading race in the Galactic Union of Planetary Republics. This star-spanning government, an advocate for peace and diversity throughout the galaxy, repre-sents over eighty-five memberworlds and hundreds of sentient species. But when diplomacy fails and the Galactic Union is threatened by foes with abilities beyond that of normal beings, the Star Brigade Special Forces are called. The Star Brigade, an offshoot of the Galactic Union's military arm, is a strike team of ex-pertly trained operatives who dedicate their special abilities and skills to the safekeeping of the Galactic Un-ion and its citizens. Whether it be by ground, air or space, the Star Brigade works tirelessly to defend the Union against super-powered terrorist threats.

That all changed a year ago when one of the Star Brigade's assignments went disastrously wrong, killing several Brigadiers and tarnishing their reputation in the eyes of the Union government. Most importantly it led to the departure of the Brigade's greatest operative - Captain Habraum Nwosu who, as the mission's leader, blamed himself for its failure. But now, on the eve of the largest trade merger in galactic history, an old enemy rears its head and threatens to destroy everything the Galactic Union stands for. Captain Nwosu must rejoin the Star Brigade and lead his team back to prominence if the Galactic Union is to have any hope of survival.

About the Author:
Born in 1979, C.C. Ekeke has been a fan of the science fiction and fantasy genres as long as he can re-member. The idea for the Star Brigade has been cooking in his head for years, but he never once considered turning it into a novel. Throughout his childhood and teenage years he focused on sketching his ideas on pa-per and had dreams of becoming a comic book artist. It was only after skimming through his many sketches during his sophomore year of college that C.C. knew he had to write all his ideas down.

Star Brigade: First Renaissance is an ode to C.C.’s lifelong love for science fiction, his way of writing the type of sci-fi novel that he himself would want to read.
