New MindXpansion Services Value Stock Options for Divorce

(PRLEAP.COM) Courts do not have established standards and reliable procedures for valuing stock options, yet employee stock options can represent the majority of wealth for a family. If these important assets are not properly valued in a divorce proceeding, then there will not be a proper distribution of wealth to each spouse in the divorce settlement. The option services company, MindXpansion, has introduced new internet-based option valuation services to take care of this important need.

MindXpansion calculates the fair value of options using option pricing models such as the Black-Scholes or Black-Scholes-Merton model, or various lattice models such as the Binomial model, which meet the regulations of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) for proper expensing of stock options by companies. MindXpansion has been involved in option valuation for almost ten years, offering services and software to option holders and traders as well as to companies for proper expensing of stock options per federal regulations.

In order to assist attorneys and courts, as well as the petitioners and respondents in divorce cases, MindXpansion launched new low-priced services to value the options granted by companies so that fair distribution of marital wealth can be achieved. "Our goal was to provide the best prices in the industry to address this need, so that attorneys, courts, and the public can use our expert services in a cost-effective manner." stated Dr. Tim Larson of MindXpansion.

A reasonable and supportable option valuation requires careful consideration of the inputs to the valuation model, based on economically sound analysis and professional expertise.

Options have been granted by many hi-tech companies such as Google Inc. (Nasdaq: GOOG), Texas Instruments Inc (NYSE: TXN), and Intel Corp (Nasdaq: INTC) as well as many long-established blue chip companies.

MindXpansion has been operating since 1995. They have addressed option valuation needs for companies and employees as well as option traders. In addition to fair value calculation, they do what-if analyses to help their customers better understand the salient aspects of option valuation.
