SimplyHeadlines.com Free Customizable Email Newspaper Launches

(PRLEAP.COM) SimplyHeadlines, http://www.simplyheadlines.com, “the Newspaper for the Extremely Busy,” has emerged from stealth mode today with the launch of Version 2.0. The new version of SimplyHeadlines is the result of ongoing feedback from its successful beta introduction over one year ago that has attracted thousands of users, hundreds of blog posts and a wealth of insight into what today’s “on-the-go” business and consumer users want and need from a customized, daily newspaper.

SimplyHeadlines, billed as a start-page for your email, is a free, personalized daily email newspaper featuring news from thousands of diverse sources such as the New York Times, iVillage, Men’s Health, Bloomberg, BBC and Defamer, among others. Unlike similar services, users can also add non-news related items, such as local weather, personalized stock quotes, keyword news clipping, comics, sudoku and other features to make their SimplyHeadlines a truly customized, personal newspaper.

The feedback and response to SimplyHeadlines has been tremendous. According to Joshua Lippiner, the creator of SimplyHeadlines, “I have been amazed and pleased with the response to SimplyHeadlines. I knew that we had really touched on a need when we received two congratulatory emails in the same day; one from a 37-year old business man who thanked us for keeping him informed and another from a 72-year old whose grandchild told him about SimplyHeadlines. When you have someone’s grandfather thanking you for creating an Internet service “so simple he can use” you know you have done something right!”

Unlike Yahoo! or software products, SimplyHeadlines is delivered by email for computer or mobile device reading. “We found that the majority of people are extremely busy and don’t have time to sit around clicking on multiple web sites for news stories to stay informed. Simply delivering the headlines and abstracts of only the stories they care about to their email is the natural evolution of dropping a newspaper on their doorstep – they wake up and it’s waiting there for them on their computer, Blackberry, Treo or mobile phone. It’s that simple."

Geoff Walker, a Silicon Valley consultant, commented: "SimplyHeadlines is an interesting step in the evolution of personalized news access on the Internet."

About SimplyHeadlines

SimplyHeadlines, founded in 2005, was developed as an experiment for a world traveler who was desperately seeking a way to keep on top of the news – literally - while on-the-go. News of the site’s utility caught on, and thousands of subscribers showed up in the first year. SimplyHeadlines’ development efforts are ongoing, and SimplyHeadlines v2.0 is the result of direct feedback from these users. SimplyHeadlines is headquartered in Redondo Beach, CA.
