WINNERS OF ENTREPRENEURIAL BUSINESS OF THE YEAR AWARD

TWO Northamptonshire mums have turned their lives around since being made redundant last Christmas. And in one short year, have launched their own internet gift company www.cocooncollection.co.uk and are proud winners of Entrepreneurial Business of the Year and runners up in New Business of the Year in the Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards 2006.

The company provides a range of inspirational gifts for children and adults and judges were impressed by its originality and entrepreneurial spirit. Collecting the award, commercial director Amanda McManus said she was stunned.
"We weren't expecting to win at all. We are a new business and it's brilliant we were chosen."

Judges’ comments stated “COCOON COLLECTION has shown growth in a competitive market despite being a relatively new start-up. The company provides a range of inspirational, engaging and educational gifts and has demonstrated originality of thinking, supported by potential for growth and profitability. Born out of redundancy, the founders have shown vision and strong entrepreneurial spirit in starting and developing the business and the ability to sell in a highly-demanding market. We are proud to have identified them as winners of this award.”
