Gateway To Sedona Launches Gift Certificate Contest with a Puzzle

Gateway To Sedona, the most visited online magazine and directory for Sedona, Arizona, has just launched the first in its new series of online contests with an unexpected twist: visitors to www.gatewaytosedona.com wishing to enter must first solve a specially programmed jigsaw puzzle.

Pieces of the puzzle magically meld together as the user finds and fits scattered sections with their mouse pointer to reveal a stunning photograph of Cathedral Rock in Sedona. Although any up-to-date Internet browser will work, if the browser is Internet Explorer, the puzzle finishes with an explosion of stars and crack of fireworks that redirects the user to the contest entry form.

“This is so much fun!” declares one contest participant, a comment now oft’ repeated as the number of entries continues to climb. The contest was officially launched this week, and the publishers of Gateway To Sedona have already received hundreds of entries.

Even though the contest is limited to entries with a US address, one woman from the UK who completed the puzzle wrote, “Loved doing the jigsaw and what a wonderful scene – makes me want to book another holiday!”

The winning entry will be drawn on the 29th of the month, and the winner will be announced on the 30th. The winner will receive a $100 gift certificate toward their purchase from one of almost 100 merchants listed in Gateway To Sedona’s departments, representing a wide range of possibilities. For example, the winner could choose to redeem their gift certificate for a Grand Canyon Tour, fine art jewelry, a custom gift basket, signature spa treatment, or a stay in a luxury hotel or bed and breakfast.

Launched in 2002, Gateway To Sedona publishes Northern Arizona events and original feature articles each week, complete with photos and extensive information, making GatewayToSedona.com the most information-packed web site for Sedona with over 50,000 indexed pages online.
