DaniWeb tempts bloggers with $1500 prize pool

December 11, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
New York, US, December 2006 - DaniWeb (http://www.daniweb.com), the fast growing IT discussion community with 130,000 members, today announced a new incentive for people to use its blogging system: prizes with a total value exceeding $1500. In order to be in with a chance of winning, people just have to become members of DaniWeb (membership is free of charge) and start blogging. Of course, this is no ordinary blogging system, every entry has to be IT news related by way of straightforward reporting, analysis or opinionated comment.

DaniWeb prides itself on being an authoritative yet friendly and accessible IT support community, and the same principles apply to the blogs. But then, this is no ordinary competition either.

The winners will be able to choose* an item from a prize pool that includes such goodies as a 24” widescreen LCD monitor, the latest multi-megapixel compact digital camera or even an Xbox 360 games console.

“There will be two winners” said DaniWeb administrator Davey Winder “one whose blog attracts the most views, and the other the most trackbacks. There will also be a bonus prize on offer if the winner exceeds 50,000 views or 10,000 trackbacks in total. We need talented new bloggers prepared to put some effort into creating relevant and timely content, and taking an active role in driving traffic to see that content. What’s more, unlike most blog publishers, we are willing to reward people for their efforts.”

The DaniWeb blogging competition starts on the 1st December and runs through until the end of January 31st 2007. Full rules can be found at http://www.daniweb.com/techtalkforums/thread63237.html and the sooner people start blogging, the more chance they have of picking up a prize.
