MUTTS NO LONGER HAVE TO COMPETE WITH PUREBREDS

December 17, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Lifestyle News
Mutt lovers now have a new home on the web. luvmutt.com (http://www.luvmutt.com) is dedicated exclusively to mixed breed dogs – no purebreds allowed!

While some dog owners gladly pay $1000 or more for a specific breed, others prefer to rescue a homeless dog. And mutt owners know there is no greater reward than giving a home to a creature in need.

“In America there are between 8 and 12 million pets entering animal shelters every year,” says luvmutt.com editor Erin Moore. “When you rescue a shelter dog, the love and affection you feel for your new best friend is that much more powerful, because you know you’ve saved a life. Our mutts may not be able to participate in fancy dog shows, but we deserve to celebrate and share them, too.”

luvmutt.com honors all kinds of mutts. Each day, the site features a new dog sent in by the readers. The dog’s profile will include a colorful description and 3 to 5 photos that capture the dog’s unique personality. Visitors to the site have the opportunity to comment on the dogs, as well as vote for “luvmutt of the Week.”

The mission of luvmutt.com is simply to brighten the days of dog lovers around the world. Anyone is welcome to submit their mixed breed dog to be featured on the site. Readers are encouraged send an email to submissions@luvmutt.com that contains 3 to 5 photos along with the dog's name, hometown, and fun facts such as nicknames, favorite toys, and adoption stories.
