Shop New Zealand Christmas Trading

December 19, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Shop New Zealand (www.shopnewzealand.co.nz) has experienced an increase of over 300% in sales leading up to Christmas compared with the same period last year.

The company Managing Director, Chris Berryman, says that this large increase can be attributed to several factors. The recent increase in broadband uptake locally and interest by international consumers in buying New Zealand made products are believed to be two of the main factors for the increase in sales.

Shop New Zealand is a leading online retailer specializing in the sale of New Zealand made consumer products which it sells in six languages and distributes worldwide from its Auckland based warehouse. The company employs staff covering eight languages and this enables it to service customers throughout the world.

Shop New Zealand is a division of All World Shops which also owns Tea Shop China (www.teashopchina.com) operating out of Kunming, China. All World Shops is establishing online store fronts in over 100 countries and partnering with local partners by way of franchising. These stores will come together in 2007 to form a centralized global trading mall under the All World Shops name. This is perhaps another example of a local New Zealand company being able to establish a global Internet business and that distance and size is no longer a barrier to entry.
