InApp attains CMMI Level 5 Certification – the highest standard in quality software delivery.

December 20, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
InApp, a software services company based in Palo Alto, has become one of a small number of companies in the world to achieve CMMI Level 5 Certification. The appraisal covers several of InApp’s Software Solutions areas; including custom software development and outsourced product development - enhancement, maintenance, porting, migration, testing, training and support.

The CMMI quality certification is more elaborate and extensive than CMM. CMMI has 22 process areas compared to 18 for CMM and 425 practices as compared to 316 in CMM. Achieving Level 5 of CMMI affirms InApp’s ability to offer the highest possible value to customers by providing better requirement specification, more thoughtful design & architecture, and enhanced quantitative project management.

"The CMMI Level 5 rating strengthens our commitment to develop and deliver the highest quality software products and services to our clients. This achievement has been possible by working and learning from our smart and demanding customers across the world. Our thrust has always been on serving clients better by focusing on and strengthening our project management and delivery processes, backed by a strong domain understanding and focused technology skill sets; in short you get Ralph Lauren quality at Walmart prices." said Mr. Rakesh Puri, CEO, US Operations.

Mr. Satish Babu, President, InApp, who spearheads the quality initiatives, said "Quality improvement is a continuous journey at InApp. CMMI Level 5 process will enable us to link management and software engineering activities to business objectives to ensure that products and services meet client expectations.”

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kris Puthucode, SEI authorized SCAMPI (Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement) Lead Appraiser, Software Quality Center LLC (SQC), Phoenix, AZ said “I congratulate InApp for sustaining and strengthening the processes at Level 3 and achieving Level 5. You are now one of the approximately 125 companies in the world to have achieved this Level. You are also one of the few companies to have undergone two formal assessments on the way to becoming Level 5 certified. This is just the beginning. You have to further strengthen metrics and analysis and institutionalize “metrics based thinking” in the organization.”

In a world overflowing with software services companies, each claiming to be the best, customers are often confused about what and who to believe; for both, current and prospective clients, this is a useful yardstick. Customers can look forward to software that works right the first time, is easy to use and evolves easily as business demands change.
