In 2003, SES GLOBAL earned revenues of EUR 1.2 billion, had an EBITDA of EUR 943 million (representing an EBITDA margin of 78.1%) and a net profit of EUR 205 million. This result was achieved despite an overall difficult market environment in the telecommunications and broadcasting industry.

2003.

• SES AMERICOM celebrated the successful launch of its AMC-10 satellite from Cape Canaveral onboard Atlas IIAS on February 5th, 2004. Meanwhile, AMERICOM's latest satellite, AMC-11, is awaiting launch onboard an Atlas IIAS launch vehicle in Cape Canaveral (USA). Two additional SES AMERICOM launches are scheduled to take place before year end 2004.

• On February 24, 2004, SES GLOBAL announced that it had acquired an ownership stake in ORBCOMM Inc., a US-based provider of global satellite data services to industrial, military and commercial customers, using a Low-Earth-Orbit constellation of spacecraft. As of March 2004, that ownership stake was 10.54%.

• On April 2, 2004, SES AMERICOM announced it received approval from a US Bankruptcy court to acquire the assets of Verestar Inc., for a total cash consideration of US $ 18.5 million. Verestar focuses on managed solutions for satellite communications in government, broadcast, enterprise, and international services markets with strategically located teleport facilities in the US and abroad. The transaction will be closed upon receipt of appropriate US government authorizations, including approval by the Federal Communications Commission to transfer Verestar's communications licences.

At the Annual General Meeting, SES shareholders also elected Mr. Gilbert Ernst, Executive Vice President and Member of the Executive Board of BCEE (Banque et Caisse d'Épargne de l'État du Luxembourg), to the Board of Directors of SES GLOBAL. Mr. Ernst completes the term of the mandate of Mr. Raymond Kirsch who retired on February 1, 2004.
