Gil West becomes new President and CEO of Laidlaw Transit Services, Inc.

(PRLEAP.COM) Gil West was recently appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer of Laidlaw Transit Services, Inc. In this position, he will utilize his strong strategic leadership skills to further advance the company, capitalizing on Laidlaw Transit Services’ strong management and innovative transit solutions. He will report directly to Kevin E. Benson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Laidlaw International, Inc.

Mr. West was most recently the Chief Executive Officer of Intermet. Prior to joining Intermet, he was the President and Chief Operating Officer at TIMCO Aviation Services and held senior management positions at Northwest Airlines and served in various management positions with United Airlines, BF Goodrich, Hamilton-Sundstrand Corporation and Boeing Company.

Mr. West is a graduate of North Carolina State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science – Mechanical Engineering degree and National University where he received a Master of Business Administration degree.
