Scituate-based Nutrition Program moves to Harbor United Methodist Church

December 31, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Health News

The Scituate Senior Center had been the home for this program since 1983 and
SSES established a strong partnership with the Scituate Council on Aging
throughout the years. The Senior Center's programs are increasing and more
people are coming into the center. The growth is a positive development for
Scituate seniors and a tribute to Council on Aging Director Joan Wright and
her staff. SSES' decision to move the site will enable the Senior Center
programs to have additional room.

Pastor Rick McKinley of the Harbor United Methodist Church opened the church
doors to SSES and the Nutrition Program will now be located there.

Edward J. Flynn Jr., Executive Director of the SSES, commented, "I want to
offer special thanks to all of the volunteers for their efforts on behalf of
the many seniors who receive a home delivered meal or who attend the
congregate program. There would be no program without them and we hope that
they will be willing to stay with us as we move. Thanks are due as well to
Joan Wright and all of the staff and volunteers of the Scituate Council on
Aging. We look forward to a continued positive relationship as we all strive
to improve the quality of life of all Scituate seniors."
