Boerne, Texas — Hummingbirds and dragonflies, bluebirds and tumble bugs - unique and beautiful works of art, created by Melanie Fain, are featured in the Burke Arts Council’s Jailhouse Gallery during January.

Melanie Fain, a Texas artist who specializes in etchings and watercolors, has garnered top awards throughout the United States. Her works have also been part of prestigious national and international competitions. Melanie Fain’s art can be found in both public and private collections from coast to coast.

This one-woman show features Melanie’s etchings. Each etching is hand printed, then hand-painted with watercolor or pastels, making each one unique. Melanie has developed her own techniques using multiple etching plates on some pieces. There is no other wildlife artist in the United States doing this style of etchings.

A percentage of the sales from this exhibition will benefit the Burke Arts Council. The Council’s mission is to enrich the quality of life in Burke County through cultural and artistic activities. The Burke Arts Council seeks to coordinate arts activities in the community, serve as an information and resource center for the arts, and promote local artists and arts organizations.

“My goal is to capture the essence of how I feel about a particular subject and share that emotional bond with my collectors. To achieve this, I limit myself to painting and drawing what I know and love. I want to convey to the world the beauty o the spider as well as the butterfly. I hope you enjoy my art. It is my life’s pleasure to bring the natural world to you,” Melanie Fain.
