Clearwater, FL, January 7, 2007 – Smart for Life Weight management™, also known as “The Cookie Diet™”, announced today that it will be hosting educational events at its Tampa Bay centers in 2007. Topics to be discussed include childhood obesity, all-natural weight loss, maintaining a healthy weight and, the health and financial risks associated with being obese. Educational events will take place once every several weeks in the Smart for Life centers. Also, Smart for Life's medical staff will be visiting bay area pediatricians, cardiologists, and family practice physicians in an effort to educate them about the The Cookie Diet™.

The cookies which are full of nutrients, amino acids and, fiber naturally suppress hunger while supplying the body with the protein and healthy fats necessary to sustain lean muscle and energy. Soups and shakes are also available as an alternative to the cookies. Smart for Life™ products are organic and contain no chemical ingredients or artificial sweeteners. Patients who follow the medically supervised program lose 12 to 15 pounds per month on average.

The cookies are offered in five flavors — chocolate, cinnamon-oatmeal raisin, Maine blueberry, pina colada and organic banana – and are exclusively available at Smart for Life Weight Management Centers™. These cookies have helped thousands of people lose weight across the United States and Canada.

“Childhood obesity is especially concerning these days so I am pleased that we can offer a program that helps children lose weight safely,” says Smart for Life Tampa Bay Medical Director Jose Cruz. “The advantage of an all-natural organic program is that it's safe for children as well as adults. There are no harsh medications involved which allows us to treat just about anyone for weight loss.”

Dr. Jose Cruz completed a residency in Pediatric Neurosurgery at Juan M. Marquez Hospital in Havana, Cuba before emigrating to the United States in 1994. Dr. Cruz also has a residency in Family Practice which he attained at Montgomery Hospital in Norristown, Pennsylvania.

Founded by Dr. Sasson E. Moulavi, a board certified bariatric physician, the Smart for Life Weight Management™ program has helped thousands of clients make positive changes in their lives.
