New Gallup poll finds 46% of Americans 'just somewhat satisfied' with life: What makes you feel like this?

(PRLEAP.COM) Those who feel unsatisfied are not alone: a January 2007 Gallup poll finds that 46% of Americans are either "just somewhat satisfied" or actively dissatisfied with their personal lives. "What Makes You Feel Like This?" is both a question Inward Quest addresses, and the title of their free personal growth seminars to be held on January 23 and 24 in Indianapolis.

The recent Gallup poll indicates that the most significant factors in personal satisfaction are relationship and financial success. They found the highest correlation between life satisfaction and happiness in marriage. If this is the case, a person’s ability to interact with others effectively, to express and share emotion, may determine whether or not he is happy. Yet many people believe emotions are something that "just happen:" few believe they have a choice in what they feel.

"Our emotional reactions are a mystery to many of us," explains Suzanne Vachet, Inward Quest’s director. "We interact with someone, and it triggers a response. But behind the scenes, there’s an association with the past, a story we’re telling ourselves, that we may not be aware of. When we explore our stories in a workshop setting like this, we can realize that we’re not alone in our feelings. Freeing ourselves from emotional drama gives us energy and opportunity to find our life purpose, the place in the universe that only we can fill."

Participants can attend Inward Quest’s workshop on either Tuesday, January 23, at 7 PM, at the Broad Ripple Donatos Pizza at 62nd and Keystone, or Wednesday, January 24, at 7 PM at the Shadeland Donatos Pizza at 75th and Shadeland. Both sessions are free but advance registration is requested. For more information or to register, call 317-225-5454 or visit http://iq.achievegrowth.org.
