After starting her hair career in New York City, Alexis James accepted a position at the famed Cristophe Salon in Las Vegas . Cristophe’s Salon is world famous and best know for its flagship salon in Beverly Hills, California . After almost two years, Alexis left the Cristophe Salon to pursue a new position at Tonic II Salon.

Tonic II Salon is a Bumble and Bumble network salon in the Las Vegas Area. Alexis James will also be training with Wella/Sebastian to become certified as a Master Colorist and Technical Specialist for the Las Vegas/Southwest territory. In a recent interview Alexis was quoted saying, "I love working at Tonic II Salon in Las Vegas . I love being part of a brand new concept salon here in town."

Alexis James has seen a big increase in her popularity recently when she was chosen as stylist for April and May 2006 Vegas Magazine issues. Then in October Alexis was chosen to do hair and make up for Ed Hardy Events Las Vegas.
