Giunti Labs provides best practice lessons at Learning Technologies

January 18, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
The Giunti Labs’ learn eXact® learning content management system (LCMS) is being used in the Radiology – Integrated Training Initiative (R-ITI) Project, which is helping to reduce radiology based diagnosis time in the National Health Service (NHS). To date the project has produced more than 600 hours of e-learning at a fraction of the previous costs of training.

Since adopting learn eXact, the R-ITI Project has made great strides towards its target of reducing radiology-based diagnosis time to 18 weeks from the average of two years currently experienced by patients entering the NHS. The R-ITI Project, a collaborative initiative between the Royal College of Radiologists, the Department of Health and the NHS, won a gold award in the E-Learning Age Awards, announced last November.

Jon Turner, project manager of the R-ITI Project, will be giving more details of this project at the conference which accompanies the Learning Technologies exhibition. Speaking in the session on ‘The changing face of content development’, on 1st February, Jon Turner is explaining how to:
• Build a design process around subject matter experts (SMEs)
• Deal effectively with issues including motivation, risk and reward
• Ensure quality with the expert review process
• Use tools to capture and share expertise

According to Angus Turpin, manager for Giunti Labs in the UK and Ireland: “The Giunti Labs’ learn eXact® suite is also being used in the public sector, along with such industries as telecoms, banking and finance, as well as in healthcare, to deliver benefits to learners and their employers.

“New developments in LCMS technology now mean that we can deliver, and monitor the use of, learning content onto mobile devices such as Blackberry™ mailers, Windows Mobile™ palm computers, Symbian™ Smartphones and Xybernaut™ Wearable computers gaming consoles,” he added. “This new generation of mobile LCMSs (mLCMS) will be available on the Giunti Labs’ stand (stand number 34) at the accompanying Learning Technologies exhibition.”

About Giunti Labs

Giunti is unique in the international publishing industry.

In 1497, Giunti publishers and typographers in Florence, together with others in Venice, began modern book manufacturing. Over the years Giunti has built a ‘historical catalogue’ of huge dimensions, through a gradual process of ‘fusion’ of different publishers, but also through the creation of new brands, including Giunti Labs.

Giunti Labs, which has its EMEA headquarters in Italy and an office in Milton Keynes (UK), provides the learn eXact® suite, Europe's leading e-learning and mobile learning content management technology. This suite is interoperable with all major vendor-driven and open source LMS and VLE solutions in the market including Oracle, SumTotal, Saba, WebCT, Blackboard, Sakai, .LRN and Moodle.
