Montreal. HMS Software, an internationally recognized leader in enterprise project management and enterprise timesheet systems has announced today the release of TimeControl Industrial (TCi). Building upon its already established TimeControl product line, TCi is targeted at industries where many of the staff do not have access to computers in order to complete their timesheet.

“TimeControl has a long history of being productive for the back office staff,” says Chris Vandersluis, President of HMS Software. “We’ve been working for over three years on TimeControl Industrial so that a single product can support both the back office staff and the field personnel.”

TimeControl Industrial includes functionality which makes it ideal for use in heavy industry, in construction, in mining or in shutdown and asset maintenance environments including:

Crew Entry
Aside from the weekly timesheet that is designed for backoffice workers, TimeControlIndustrial’s Crew Entry interface allows crews to be assembled and then their time entered for the entire crew at once. Blank timesheets can be carried by the foreman or supervisor and then the timesheet for the entire crew is entered at one time. The Crew Entry timesheet can be done each day, each shift or for an entire week at a time.

Material Management
TimeControlIndustrial supports Material usage entry. Aside from labor entries which list the hours and costs associated to personnel working on a project, there are often non-labor resources that are used. The Material Management system in TimeControlIndustrial allows entries of other resources such as materials, equipment, rentals, even costs to be tracked. The TimeControl rates system has been extended in TimeControlIndustrial to allow rates to be defined for any type of resource, not just hours.

Complex Rates
TimeControlIndustrial includes a completely new approach to rate management. Aside from the existing Rate system which was already revolutional in the classic versions of TimeControl, this new system allows for the complex rates that are often found in industrial situations. This includes escalated rates, rates which must support premiums for certain kinds of work and more. Literally millions of possible rate combinations can be supported.

“We’ve been working closely with two major launch clients for almost three years,” said Stephen Eyton-Jones, HMS Software’s Director of Technical Services. “We know from this work in the field that we have a strong product for the industrial marketplace.”

The TimeControl Industrial product carries the same robust functionality included in the other editions of TimeControl including links to Project Management products like Microsoft Project and Project Server and the Primavera line of Project Management products. TimeControl can serve as the time and attendance, time and billing and project status timesheet simultaneously.

“The TimeControl Industrial edition provides the best of both worlds,” says Vandersluis. “On one hand this makes the entire organization more efficient at the back office by identifying not just how much time people are working but also what they are doing with their time. On the other hand, the field personnel can now have their timesheets entered directly into a system that is designed for crew entry work or for field personnel work. This is makes Owners and Prime Contractors happier because they can track all labor in one place and it makes Sub-Contractors happier because it virtually eliminates disagreements about billing and ultimately results in faster payment for services.”

TimeControl Industrial pricing varies by volume and starts at $15,000 for a 100-employee system.

TimeControl Industrial is available for immediate shipping.
