Mobility for Utilities Workshop to be Held at MUWG 2007

(PRLEAP.COM) DataSplice is pleased to announce a free workshop dedicated to the needs of Utility and Energy providers. The Mobility for Utilities Workshop, will be held during the MAXIMO Utility Working Group (MUWG) on March 8, 2007 in Mesa, Arizona. This Best Practices workshop is designed for MUWG members to learn the basics of designing, implementing and administrating mobile data collection solutions. The intended audience is the business process owner and/or the Maximo administrator that is attempting to define and implement a strategic mobile solution for their respective organizations.

The focus will be on developing best practice mobile solutions for Utility specific business processes, including:
- Substation Maintenance and Inspections
- Utility Pole and Line Inspections
- Inspecting & Testing; Manholes, Hydrants and Backflow Devices
- Asset Tagging and Tracking
- Inventory Control and Rotating Spares Management

Attendees of this workshop will engage with other MUWG members that are utilizing mobile technology. Discussions will include planning, implementing and managing a mobility project, and developing best practices for utilizing Maximo and mobility for data collection intensive processes.
Workshop attendees will also demo some of the latest handheld hardware and barcode scanners and learn how to select the right hardware for their environment and application.
