Geocomp Corporation Appoints Babur R. Mian as COO and Executive Vice President

DATELINE: BOXBOROUGH AND WALTHAM, MASS… Babur R. Mian, Senior Vice President and Director of Operations at Geocomp Corporation has recently been appointed as the company’s Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President. Headquartered in Boxborough, Mass., Geocomp is a technology based company that identifies and manages risks associated with construction and infrastructure of public and private works projects throughout the world.

As COO and EVP, Mr. Mian will be a key member of the leadership team and report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. In turn, all division and branch managers will report to Mr. Mian. He will exercise fiduciary and managerial responsibility over the company’s resources and operations and will also be responsible for providing an administrative structure that supports the organization in meeting its business and strategic objectives.
In support of Geocomp’s mission, it will be Mr. Mian’s duty to foster a collaborative culture across various business units and build a scalable and efficient business infrastructure.

Before his promotion, Mr. Mian was responsible for overseeing Geocomp’s operations, business development and project support functions. Mr. Mian has been involved in the engineering construction business for more than 14 years managing projects and business units within the US and projects across the globe. Previous to his tenure at Geocomp, Mr. Mian was the Vice President and Director of Corporate Initiatives at Wilbur Smith Associates, Inc., a full service infrastructure consulting firm with 65 offices around the world.

Mr. Mian holds a BS and MS in Civil Engineering, as well as an MBA. He is member of the ARTBA Young Executive Leadership Council and chairs the New Technology committee. He is also a member of ASCE and Chi Epsilon.

A native of Pakistan, Mr. Mian resides in Waltham, Mass.
