Airkenya started new online booking system: www.airkenya.com

Airkenya, the leading regional airline in East Africa, started its online booking system, www.airkenya.com , at the beginning of 2007.The first passenger who booked online, was welcomed on board by Airkenya CEO, Mr. Amatzia Snir, and was granted two open tickets for any of Airkenya destinations.

The online system, one of the most sophisticated in Africa, and one of the most user-friendly in the online travel market, enable Airkenya direct customers and travel agents to book online all Airkenya flights and safari packages, to pay by any of the major credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, American Express and JCB) and to print Electronic-Flights-Tickets (E-Tickets), all in less than five minutes.
The system is fully integrated to Airkenya back office and commercial systems.

Mr. Snir said on Monday: ”The new system was initiated as part of Airkenya efforts to improve its services to its clients worldwide. I believe it will open new opportunities for the airline to approach new target clients and enhance Airkenya’s position as the leading regional airline in East Africa”.

The system, www.airkenya.com, was developed by www.enoyaone.com which is specialized in the development of low-cost and efficient online booking systems, for medium size enterprises in the airline and the retail sectors.

Airkenya is the major regional airline in East Africa, Its services include flights and safari packages between Nairobi and Masai-Mara, Kilimanjaro, Mombasa, Meru, Malindi, Samburu, Nanyuki and Lamu. In late 2006 it opened a new service between Nairobi and Mombasa. The flights are operated by its brand new Dash 8/100 aircraft.

In 2006 Airkenya serviced 130,000 passengers, with a fleet of 7 aircrafts (1 X Dash 8/100, 3 X Dash 7 and 2 X Dash 6)
