YourBarn.com: Connecting Riders Around the World

January 26, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Entertainment News
In less than five months since its introduction, more than 3800 horseback riders and horse lovers have joined the social network YourBarn.com. Niche market social networking has become especially popular in the wake of social giant MySpace.com and YourBarn.com emerged as the place where equestrians from all over the world and in all disciplines can share photos, video, write blogs, form groups, and more.

“The community is constantly growing,” said Barn Manager Cate Stevens-Davis. “There are users of all riding backgrounds and countries from the United States and Canada to Australia and Singapore. They've crossed every boundary to join together despite their differences simply because of their love of horses.”

YourBarn.com rests on user-generated content, from blogs and profiles to photo albums and member groups focusing on specific disciplines, locations and affiliations. Many users follow their horses' progress in training, asking for tips and input, while others share the excitement of the impending births of foals.

“It's amazing,” says one user in response to the news that a mare's owner felt the baby kick for the first time. “It's a whole new world opened up to me.”
