Sicilian handicraft firms ready for the South African Market

The participation to the workshop, that will be held in the elegant frame of Fountain Square in the Shopping Centre of Sandton City, will allow Sicilian manufacturers of furnishing articles, gift items, silver products, home accessories, custom jewellery and fashion accessories to introduce their productions to the South African business operators who show and have shown particular interest for made in Italy products.

“The aim of Quarit Consortium – says Salvo Bonanno, managing director of Quarit – is to present the best Italian handicrafts, in terms of quality and artistic value, on the domestic market and international markets and to promote their distribution.

With the Regional Council for Cooperation we have programmed a workshop in Johannesburg, in the Sandton City Shopping Centre. The workshop will be the ideal gathering point for Sicilian firms and South African business operators.

In the workshop we will have five Sicilian handicraft firms, accurately selected, showing the best quality handicrafts of our island in the fields of ceramics, interior design, textiles, custom jewellery and gift articles.

We are sure that South African consumers, always enthusiastic about ‘Made in Italy’ products, will appreciate the forms, the colours and the tastes of our splendid Sicily.”

The core of the workshop becomes profitable when the participating firms have the possibility to meet trade operators and selected buyers. Operators and buyers, through a pre-planned appointment agenda will meet with the firm’s representatives; the agenda was set up in the past weeks.

Business contacts with international operators will be made easier by the distribution of the catalogue containing relevant data about the participating firms and their marketing oriented activities.
