Nepal Volunteer Programs Re-Launched by Cosmic Volunteers

Cosmic Volunteers announces the re-launching of its Volunteer Nepal program for international travelers.

The Volunteer Nepal program includes Teaching English, Orphanages, and Healthcare work. The volunteer program offers a hands-on way for volunteers to contribute to improving the lives of Nepalis. The Volunteer Nepal program lasts from one week to five months. The program is available year-round. Volunteers do not need any previous experience to volunteer in Nepal.

The Volunteer Nepal program takes place in Kathmandu city, the capitol of Nepal. The Kathmandu Valley has a population of 1.5 million.

Volunteers' accommodations are with local Nepali families who provide volunteers with a private room, all meals, and inclusion in family activities. Living with a local family is a unique opportunity to gain real insight into the culture and people of Nepal.

The cost of the program ranges from 795 USD for 1 week to 2,585 USD for 20 weeks. The program fee includes pretrip materials, visa assistance, orientation program, airport pickup, housing, all meals, guidance with extra sightseeing, and 24-hour support. The program fee does not include international airfare to Nepal, visa fees, medical expenses, or travel insurance.

Scott Burke, Cosmic Volunteers' founder and director, says, "Nepal was the first country where we sent volunteers, so we are very excited to once again offer the volunteer programs in Nepal. Nepal is a magical destination, in so many ways, from the ancient culture, majestic mountains, and of course the wonderful people."

The volunteer programs in Nepal were suspended in 2006 due to the political situation in the country. However, based on the peace agreement signed recently between the Nepali government and Maoists, Nepal is once again a safe and stable destination for our volunteers.

The Volunteer Nepal program can easily be combined with the Volunteer India program due to the countries' proximity and similar culture. The Volunteer India program includes Teaching English, Healthcare, Orphanages, Community Development, and Cultural Tours.
