Today viagogo, Europe's leading secondary ticketing company, followed up its recent official launch in Germany by announcing a landmark partnership deal with FC Bayern Munich, Germany's foremost football club. The agreement makes viagogo the club's official secondary ticketing partner, and it demonstrates the company's authority in the German secondary ticketing market, the largest in Europe alongside the UK. It further signals viagogo's programme of expanding its pan-European business and developing links with high profile partners.

This is the first relationship of its kind in continental Europe, following viagogo's launch of successful partnerships in the UK with Manchester United and Chelsea FC. These are unique secondary ticketing deals that no other ticketing companies or sports teams have in place; the deals have set the industry precedent. In addition, viagogo has signed partnerships with a range of additional sport teams, media companies, and charities, making viagogo the online destination of choice for anyone seeking tickets for live events across Europe.

viagogo bridges a gap in the German market that became evident during the World Cup in 2006 when consumers lacked a secure way to trade tickets online and many fell into the hands of touts. Now German ticket holders and buyers can use wwww.viagogo.de in their own language, and benefit from safe and guaranteed transactions.

Eric Baker, CEO of viagogo said: "viagogo is committed to the European market. Our partnership with Bayern begins a new phase of maximising our presence on the continent. It reinforces our leadership of a European marketplace that we estimate is worth six to eight billion Euros. Only viagogo has the flexibility and experience to deliver a benchmark service across borders. Our sales across Europe have already exceeded our expectations and we are confident that we will continue our explosive growth."

At the same time viagogo also confirmed another new partnership deal in the UK, which makes the company Everton FC's official secondary ticketing partner. viagogo continues to develop relationships with leading Premiership clubs to reinforce its leadership of the market sector.

Baker commented on the Everton deal: "Once again we are leading the way in offering genuine fans the only legal opportunity in the UK to buy or sell tickets in a safe, convenient and guaranteed way. At the same time we’re proving that viagogo is the only place for consumers to get their tickets - guaranteed."

viagogo was set up by CEO Eric Baker, the founder and president of StubHub.com, the leading online secondary ticketing company in the US that was bought by eBay for $310MM in January 2007. viagogo is backed by a heavyweight advisory board and investor base, including Brent Hoberman, co-founder and former CEO of lastminute.com, Danny Rimer, General Partner, of leading European venture capital firm Index Ventures, Dr. Herbert Kloiber, CEO of the Tele Munchen Gruppe and the Jamba founders Alexander, Marc and Oliver Samwer through their venture company European Founders Fund.
