February 09, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Entertainment News
Toronto, Canada (PRLeap) – Voices.com, the voice-over marketplace, is elated to announce that nominations are open for the 2007 Voicey Awards. Similar to awards such as the Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, honoring actors and filmmakers, the Voicey Awards recognize voice actors for their contributions and efforts over the year in the voice-over industry.

Voice actors are hired for their vocal talents to complete various projects for organizations, companies, and institutions requiring voice-over services including commercials for radio and television, promos, movie trailers, audio book narration, podcasts, videos, animation, videogames, telephone recordings and more. Theirs are the voices that are heard but not seen.

The only awards show of its kind to exclusively honor voice-over professionals, the Voicey Awards has identified 5 categories of significance and prestige, including Best Male Voice, Best Female Voice, Best New Voice, Best Personal Branding, and a Lifetime Achievement Award.

A panel of three judges has been handpicked to represent the voice industry for the 2007 Voicey Awards, including voice over instructor and former voice talent agent Nancy Wolfson, celebrity voice talent and author Rodney Saulsberry, and Burbank producer Marc Graue, also a voice actor, respectively.

Voices.com Marketing Director, Stephanie Ciccarelli says, “The Voiceys are a way to honor voice talent for their talent, dedication, and creativity. We look forward to announcing the winners!”
