(Albany, NY) Capital Region corporate magician Vinny Grosso has been selected by the U.S. Department of Defense to entertain American troops stationed at the U.S. military base at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. He will also perform his magic shows for Cuban children at the local mission operated by the U.S. military. He is scheduled to begin a 21-day tour of American military bases, starting in Cuba and including a high-security base in Ecuador.
The Comfortex Corporation in Watervliet, where Mr. Grosso works as a marketing manager, also supports his venture performing for American troops overseas. “We’re proud of Vinny both as an employee and as a talented individual who amazes people with his magic,” said Thomas Marusak, President of Comfortex. “He’s really excited about this opportunity and we’re glad to give him our support with a paid leave of absence so he can pursue it.”
Mr. Grosso’s upcoming tour to entertain troops has personal significance for him because of his family ties to the U.S. military. His cousin is a Lieutenant Colonel flying C-5 cargo jets for the United States Air Force, and his stepson was recently accepted into the Corps of Cadets military academy at Norwich University in Vermont. Mr. Grosso is proud to show his support for and help maintain the morale of American troops.
