Ohio Graduation Test Practice Test by IQity is Effective Prep Tool for Ohio Teachers
(
PRLEAP.COM) COLUMBUS-Schools faced with increasingly demanding state and federal standards under "No Child Left Behind" and other laws have a tough challenge in 2007. For the first time, all seniors must pass all parts of the Ohio Graduation Test (OGT) or miss their commencement. The IQity Graduation Practice Test and Study Guide is a new answer this year for thousands of Ohio high school students. It is the only scientific and intelligence-based test system online that is totally aligned with Ohio’s state standards, benchmarks and grade level indicators for the OGT.
At the E-Tech Conference in Columbus today, Jamie Petree, IQity Vice President for Professional Development will offer a demonstration of this new OGT prep tool as part of her conference presentation at 2 p.m at the Columbus Convention Center. Demonstrations are also available at the IQity multimedia booth at the conference.
Made available last fall for the first time to several Ohio districts, it is the only online tool developed for Ohio students by Ohio educators and reviewed by the same Ohio educators who served on the Content Advisory Committee for the actual OGT administered by the Ohio Department of Education.
"IQity provides an online experience that trumps other existing test preparation products," said William Lager, president of Altair Learning Management, which developed the tool. "It offers full-color visuals to stimulate student interest. It also enhances student confidence in passing the OGT for graduation with interactive practice quizzes delivered in the fun environment of online learning."
"The competition - whether online or in a paperback book - does not measure up," Lager said.
Costing just a few cents a day per student, IQity offers school districts and students a unique assessment and practice system. Training is self-paced and free to those who use the tutorial material. Many Ohio districts are participating in free trials of the product prior to the OGT testing period in March.
Among those educators who served on the OGT Content Advisory Committee and who vetted the IQity tool is J. Mark Stewart, director of curriculum of Dublin City Schools. He said, "IQity is closely aligned to benchmarks and grade-level indicators and offers students multiple access points to understanding the content."
Teachers and parents may assign work and monitor progress, through special tools to assign lessons and quizzes, while parents may monitor progress and work with their children through student access passwords.
